Sports Nut

I've never seen anything quite like Hughie's obsession with sports. We don't really encourage it, per se, so it fascinates me. He could be in a room with a 1000 toys and would instantly hone in on the basketball in the corner. We went to the store Five Below this week (everything is $5 or less) and I told both kids they could have whatever they wanted. As we wandered the aisles Hughie made a bee line for a basketball touch light. I tried to explain that it wasn't a toy and took him, kicking and screaming, to the sports section. He started running from bin to bin pulling out baseball bats, basketballs, footballs and finally a lacrosse stick. I got him a basketball, baseball bat (SOFT) and the lacrosse stick, and has not put that stick down in three days. He holds it left-handed (we're working on that), but otherwise he's getting the hang of it. He catches, throws and scoops the ball with the stick. Chris is going to get him in with F&M's lacrosse coach for some pointers. We need Uncle Peter up here, stat.
